Types and shadows, that lead to Christ…the Levitical rules and regulations when laid out show the process of “death, burial, and resurrection.”
Death at the altar of sacrifice, Christ’s Death at Calvary, our “death” at repentance.
Burial (washing at the brazen laver), Christ’s burial in the tomb, our “burial” in baptism.
Resurrection (the priest was to take the blood from the sacrifice behind the vail (Holiest of Holies”) sprinkle it on the mercy seat, he had to do everything completely as instructed and had a rope tied around his ankle, and bells on his garment, he had to constantly be moving so the bells would ring, and if God didn’t accept the sacrifice, due to non-conformance to the process, he would be struck dead, the bells would stop ringing and they would use the rope to pull his body out of the Holiest of Holies!) When the priest accomplished the task, it would “roll ahead” the sins of man…this was done annually, and it was completed at the death of Christ( the ultimate sacrifice)
So, Resurrection-Christ’s resurrection from the dead, our “resurrection” at the infilling of the Holy Ghost into our lives, “rising to walk in newness of life.”
To be continued…
